Hand-Carved Lettering Plaques in Mahogany
These two plaques in the photo above were done for Peabody Essex Museum in Salem Massachusetts. They were also gold-leafed which made a nice contrast to the coloring of the plaque itself. The client also wanted to add some detailing to the plaque to connect it to the room more. We picked two design details in the room and carved it on the plaque. The mahogany is a pattern grade hardwood which is the highest quality and the plaques, after installation, looked handsome in their appropriate rooms.
